2026 Student-Athlete Scholarship Application

Each year, the Camas Athletics Booster Club honors outstanding student athletes by awarding two $3,000 scholarships to pursue post‑secondary education at a college, university, or trade school. The scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate commitment to excellence in both academics and athletics. Eligible seniors are encouraged to review the application requirements and apply by the deadline.

​​​​To Apply: ​

  • Please print neatly and use blue or black ink

  • Complete ALL sections before submitting your application

    • Your high school counselor MUST complete and sign Part 8

      • applications will not be accepted without it

    • Please include all references with your completed application

Submission :​

  • Applications must be received by the deadline (May 8, 2026) to be considered

  • Completed applications can be: 

    • Handed to the CHS Athletics Office. 

    • Mailed to PO BOX 710 – Camas, WA 98607

    • Emailed to​ CamasBoosters@gmail.com

Selection Process: 

  • Sections 2–8 will be scored by a selection committee using a scoring rubric

  • The two students receiving the highest scores will be awarded the $3000 scholarship

Gabriel Palomo

Gabriel has been a standout student-athlete throughout his four years at Camas High School, competing in Football, Rugby, Unified Basketball, Lacrosse, and Track and Field.

 

A four-time scholar-athlete, he has maintained strong academic performance while staying deeply involved in school life through groups like the Investment Club and National Honor Society.

 

Beyond the classroom and athletics, Gabriel has shown an unwavering commitment to community service, contributing to over 10 initiatives including Young Life, Stuff the Bus, Youth Rugby, and Courts for Kids. His dedication reflects the core values of the Camas Athletic Booster Club.​

Channing Nesland

Channing is headed to the University of Washington to study Applied Mathematics, carrying with him a remarkable record of academic and athletic excellence. A four-year varsity student-athlete at Camas High School, he competed in both Basketball and Cross Country, serving as Varsity Basketball Captain and earning recognition as a 3-time WIAA Scholar-Athlete and GSHL Honorable Mention.

Channing’s achievements go well beyond the court. He was an active member of Cam Tech and the National Honor Society, and earned Certificates of Excellence in World Language and Science. His leadership extends globally through Courts for Kids service trips to Panama, Guatemala, and Zambia. Channing also contributed to youth basketball camps, worked summer shifts at Mean Gene Fireworks, and currently juggles two summer jobs.

Channing shared: “Using my strong talent in mathematics, I hope I can not only excel within my career but also use those skills to benefit more than just myself.”The Camas Boosters are proud to support Channing and recognize him as a true student-athlete who embodies the Papermaker spirit. Congratulations, Channing—we’re excited to see all that lies ahead!
